I talked to Paul out at the Atmosphere Cafe in Niles, Ohio and I am on the schedule for Friday November 26 the day after Thanksgiving, better know as "Black Friday". Whats funny is that I had the same day last year to perform there. The guests enjoyed a great evening after running around all day from store to store for the best deals. So, hey let's do it again! Music will start at 7 pm and go til 9 pm. You can come any time after you are done with your shopping to have dinner and relax to some of your favorite music before heading home. I hope to see you there.

Well my weekend actually started on Thursday evening with a "Sweetest Day" dinner given by the Canfield Lyons Club at the Ala Carte Banquet Center in Canfield, Ohio. The dinner was very good and the guest were very nice. I did a set of music consisting of love songs from the 40's up til recent releases. I was able to get the guest to sing a couple of the standards with me which was fun.

After working all day Friday I headed to High Pointe Church to speak for the "Walking In Victory" women's group which meets once a month. I had been led to speak about "The Power of Your Thoughts". This was confirmed by an e-mail that Darla had sent me earlier in the week as an encouragement. She had no idea what I was going to talk about until I got there. When I told her she was very excited. The praise and worship was led by a young lady named Charity Kurtz, who is a member of the church. I just love her voice and the songs she chose were so very appropriate for the gathering. My goal was to stress to the women the importance of taking total control over their own thinking. The main scripture reference I used was II Corinthians 10:5. We had some audience participation and closed with prayer with those who wanted prayer. Darla is such a sweetheart she even baked cookies for everyone!

Saturday evening I was privileged to be invited to participate in a anniversary celebration at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Struthers, Ohio. The choir director Ms. Pat Green and the minister of music Mr. Charles Robinson did a wonderful job in preparing the program for the community. We had a blessed time of music and praise with people coming in from as far as Cleveland, Ohio to join us. Please use this link to read the complete article as published by the Youngstown Vindicator.

I have had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with family and friends this year. I started on Friday September 17th at Atmosphere Cafe in Niles, Ohio and am still going! Should have seen and heard little Paul sing "Happy Birthday Cha Cha Cha". Maxine took me to C. Staples Restaurant in Youngstown,Ohio for lunch. It was the first time I had been in the new side and it was amazing. Tracey and Danny had me over to their apartment for a home cooked meal and R & R time. Little Lily joined us and we watched "Kung Foo Panda" together. I had no idea Tracey could cook so well. She even made a cake (you go girl!). Now the folks that I work with at YSU are a trip. They surprised me Wednesday with a party in the office. It was hard to stop laughing. They made a life size poster of me in a red dress (my head someone else's body) and had walk of fame starts all over the floor. There was a wonderful spread of food with candles, roses, punch and a cake. They really went all out, (did I ever mention that I love my job?) My friend Sue is a professional masseuse and gave me a neck, shoulder and elbow massage. That girl has some strong hands but I feel much better now. Donna came in from Pittsburgh and took me to dinner at an Asian buffet in Boardman, Ohio. All you can eat crab legs, oh yeah! Today my son and daughter took me to Sukara in Warren, Ohio for lunch. They cook right at your table. Nila got hit in the forehead with a piece of broccoli, I ended up with a piece in my bra and Dana laughed his butt off. (The cook was aiming for our mouths but missed...LOL). We then went to Dana's music studio in his home and they played a song that the two of them wrote for me as a birthday gift. Brought tears to my eyes. I love my kids so much!!! I then met up with my sisters and brother in law at my mom's apartment where we had cake and ice cream and enjoyed a lot of laughs. Tomorrow looks like I will be going to the lake with Troy and Lily. Looking forward to it. Yes, God IS good!

Wow, it is August already. The summer has really flown by and I feel like I am trying to catch up to it. So much going on and most of it unexpected. I attended the funeral services for my dear friend Mrs. Willis Pearl Bode this past Saturday. She was 86 and lived a life devoted to serving the community. The past few years have been hard on her with sickness which kept her in a nursing home and very frustrated that she could not get out to help people as she was used to. I met Mrs. bode in 1985 when I had just started traveling with Bob Noble & The Lost Then Found Ministry. Mrs. Bode invited me to join her in Christian Services at both the Mahoning County and Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Centers. She felt that my music would really connect with the youth that were incarcerated. Later she got me and Brian involved with the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers, traveling and doing concerts for those in transition. She would often tell people that I was her adopted daughter and not only was she my "mother'" but also my "manager"...LOL. We had some very good and fruitful times together and I certainly learned a lot from her about commitment, compassion, loyalty, and perseverance. I miss her but have the reassurance that I will see her again one day. Here is the link to her obituary: www.vindy.com/news/tributes/2010/jul/30/willis-pearl-bod/

Yes, it is Tuesday, at least for another hour. I'm just sitting here thinking about all the things I still have to get done and all the bills that need to get paid. I have been busy all day making tee shirts and e-mailing artwork. I must admit I did get a moment to talk to someone who is very spiritual and was an encouragement. Then I got to talk with someone else who frustrated me and didn't even realize it and the third person that called me I vented to and then apologized when I realized I was venting and they called just to ask me a simple question. "What time do we meet tomorrow"? It will be tomorrow soon and my work week will officially begin. I think I will reflect upon the first phone conversation and get into the "word". I know that God still uses people to give us messages if we will listen. I also need to look at the positive, I did get a lot of stuff done today and impossible situations are what miracles are made of..right? Oh by the way, we meet at 3:30!
Hello and welcome to my blog page. Thought I would start one so friends and family could follow the schedule a little easier and so I could share some moments in my world. As I learn how to use this site I will post some photos and schedules.

Ok, June has certainly started on "fast forward". This past weekend was the "Febres" wedding in Campbell, Ohio. I had the privilege of not only singing for the ceremony but being part of the wedding party. This was my first experience and it was a wonderful one. Love can be a beautiful thing. Congratulations to my friends Tracey and Daniel.

I also met some wonderful people from Mississippi on a mission trip in Austintown, Ohio. The group of twelve came up to do some outreach work with the Austintown Baptist Church congregation. They concluded with an evening service on Sunday, which I sung for. They were very friendly and committed to their ministry. There was a section of the evening that several shared their stories including my friend Pearl who I had invited. We all have a story to share that just might help someone else on their journey!
